If isolation has brought us any blessings, it’s the newfound time many of us now find ourselves with. Whether it’s the couple of hours you’re saving on travel time by working from home or a clear schedule due to work closing. Now is a great time to create new routines and habits to continue when isolation wraps up and we move back into our normal lives.
I think I wrote in a previous post how my work closed back in late March. I was absolutely devastated and one morning soon after, I found myself deep in my beauty drawer looking for something to pamper myself with to take my mind off things.
In the back corner of the drawer, I found a pile of face masks I had amassed over the past few months but never had the time to use (or so I told myself). To kill 30 minutes I decided to put one on. Afterward, I felt like a new person. The impact a 30-minute face mask had on my body and mind was a real game-changer. This inspired me to start my latest IGTV series “Face Mask Friday” where I introduce my friends on the platform to a different face mask each week to hopefully give us all a little pick me up in the current environment we are in.
With my collection including hydrating, cleansing, and exfoliating face masks. There is a lot out there for us to discover and these three types are perfect for people new to face masks.

CLEANSING MASKS
As the name suggests, a cleansing mask will help fight breakouts and blemishes while deeply cleansing and purifying your pores. Each formulation is different and depending what other ingredients are present, can also aid in protecting your skin and adding hydration.
HYDRATING MASKS
It’s no secret that the key to youthful skin is hydration. While it doesn’t reverse the already present aging we see, hydrating masks work to prevent future aging by ensuring your skin remains moist. Added ingredients work to ensure the formulation absorbs into your skin.
EXFOLIATING MASKS
Exfoliating masks have two parts to their formula. The first being ingredients designed to target the removal of dead skin, relieving clogged pores, impurities and toxins from the skin. To second is to add moisture back into the skin and soften it.
