THE SUBTLE SLOGAN T-SHIRT

Over the past few years, we have seen a rise in popularity of the slogan t-shirt. Everyone from Saint Laurent to Ted Baker to Valentino have been releasing designs. Whether it’s their trademarked logo, a funny pun or a movement starting statement, everyone is bringing a slogan tee to the market.

I’ve always been impartial to a good slogan t-shirt when I was eleven my favourite shirt was emblazoned with the famous phrase “THAT’S HOT”. One guess who my idol was at the time haha. As the years went by, the slogan tees accumulated in my closet. For a couple of years, I had my eye on the staple Balmain t-shirt. After what seemed like forever carefully considering the purchase, I finally decided to gift myself one for my birthday this year. I wouldn’t normally part with a few hundred dollars on a cotton t-shirt so before I made the commitment I made sure of two things.

It would go with a lot of pieces in my wardrobe;
I would treat it well. Wash it via the instructions, dry in the shade, neatly fold to store.

While some slogan t-shirts aren’t for the faint-hearted, with their OTT slogans, there are a few designs floating around that are more subtle and perfect for someone who wants to boost their outfit without feeling like they’re a walking advertisement.

A perfect example is this slogan t-shirt I was recently gifted with from the wonderful people at Ted Baker. A classic white tee elevated with metallic silver text. Could there be a more perfect subtle slogan tee?  I’ve always loved the beautiful classy designs by Ted Baker. So when I saw this staple tee I needed to have it. Like with most white tees, it’s extremely versatile and goes with so much in my wardrobe. I styled this classic white tee/denim jeans look for college on Monday. Wanting a dressier look, I wore with my statement Zara heels but you could easily opt for some white sneakers to make it more casual and relaxed.

What is your favourite way to wear a white shirt? Do you have a favourite slogan t-shirt at the moment?
