Last week I attended the launch of the new Seafolly collaboration with typography extraordinaire, Gemma O’Brien. Set high above the boats of Darling Harbour – the pool deck of the Sofitel was transformed into an exclusive Beach Club. A sea of beach umbrellas and sun lounges overlooked the infinity pool and onto the beautiful Sydney city skyline.  With Chandon free-flowing and a grazing table of epic proportions. We ate, drank and excitedly waited for the collection to be revealed.

Gemma took to the stage to introduce the collections with a group of Seafolly clad dancers in tow. She explained her inspiration for the collection was taken from her love of Sydney beaches and Australian botanicals. We were then treated to a performance by the dancers. Both in the water and on the deck. I really loved that each dancer was wearing an item from the new collection. Not once during the routine did the pieces move, making it even easier to Own Your Folly this summer!

The Range

Within the range, there are three bespoke illustrations available across various products. The first design is called Desert Blooms and is all about the native Australia landscape. Native animals, Australia sunsets and desert blooms were the main inspiration for this illustration and Gemma combined elements from all three to create this dusty pink design.

Desert Bloom is available in a Kimono, cover-up, towel, thongs, beach pillow and bikini bag.

Sydney Beaches is the second illustration in the range and is a collection of some of Gemma’s favour summer cool-down spots across the harbour city. With inspiration taken from classic toile patterns, Gemma delicately detailed key aspect of Sydney beaches and worked them into a fresh blue and white design.

Sydney Beaches is available in a Neoprene Tote, Towel, Beach Pillow, Headband, Bikini Bag, Hawaii Shirt, Wrap Pant, Bikinis and a Swimsuit.

The final illustration in this collection is a psychedelic Seafolly typography, available exclusively on Seafolly special edition shopping bags over the November and December period.

The range is available from November here!

And if you still can’t get enough of these designs. Seafolly has collaborated with Chandon for the third consecutive year! Desert Bloom and Sydney Beaches will feature on 300,000 limited edition Seafolly x Chandon Brut and Rosé champagne bottles over summer! Because the only thing better than drinking champagne is drinking it out of a stylish bottle.

I’ll take a case or two for my engagement party!
