Ingredients: Pink pepper, bitter orange, cypress, red spider lily, tuberose, chestnut, vanilla, patchouli and orchid.
The first Tom Ford fragrance to my collection. I was initially introduced to Black Orchid by a friend but I felt it was too spicy and dark for my style. Then I met Black Orchids little sister, Orchid Soleil. While still a structured scent it is lighter, more vibrant and said to have captured the most brilliant sunshine. It’s a fruity floral fragrance which is effortlessly complimented with notes of vanilla giving it the perfect amount of body.
At first spray there is a burst of spice. Shortly after the tuberose arrives and begins it’s dance with the pink pepper. It reminds me of travelling in a foreign country. The aroma of national spices hiding in every pocket of the humid air. Every inhale of this combination is simultaneously foreign yet familiar. As the scent begins its long wear it becomes an unmistakable mixture of a bouquet of white flowers and vanilla.
For me, Orchid Soleil evokes the feeling of sitting on a grassy hill, in the warm summer air watching the sun fall behind the ocean.
