WINTER BLUES AND HOW TO BEAT IT

Winter is well and truly upon us and if you’re anything like me, you will be in the middle of the Winter Blues.
You know the one, you leave before the sun comes up and probably get home when it’s gone down.
The days start to mesh into one big blur and you’re left wondering how you’ll make it through the next few months of reduced daylight, lukewarm sun and in Sydney’s case, rain.

But fear not, I have put together some ideas to keep you motivated and inspired for the next 12 weeks!

Beat the winter blues

Get Moving

The best way to beat the winter blues is to go for a walk/bike ride, smash out a session at the gym or stretch in your living room.
By now, we are all aware of the importance of getting our bodies moving and whether you are a gym junkie or the thought makes you nauseous, there is something you can do.
I have been making an effort to stretch for ten minutes before bed and not only does my body feel rested but my mind feels clearer.

Treat yo’self

Every winter my face breaks out and my hair turns to shit so I up my game when it comes to my beauty routines.
This usually involves intense cleansing and hydrating face masks and moisturising hair treatments.
Find out what your body is lacking and nourish it, you will feel a million times better for it!

Read

This is the perfect time to curl up under a blanket with a warm cup of tea and loose yourself in a book.
I tend to be really fussy when reading and drift towards true crime, biographies, world history or fashion.
I recently finished reading A Mother’s Choice by Elle Halliwell and recommend her memoir be put on your list.
I’m inspired to do a post about my favourite books, so keep your eyes peeled and I will create a link here in the future.

Be Social

I am a big believer that our nearest and dearest help keep us sane.
So it’s important to maintain these relationships and be social during the colder months.
This proves difficult as the last thing I want to do when it’s freezing is to leave my warm house, but I’ve found being with my people actually make winter bearable. So catch up for that coffee/wine and share a few laughs, you’ll feel better for it afterward!

I hope you guys have enjoyed this post and it’s made the thought of tackling winter easier.
Please let me know your tips on making the winter months easier in the comments below – I love reading your suggestions!
Now, I’m off to stretch before bed!

Lots of love, Chloe xx
